alex prager at yancey richardson gallery

the 'Week-End' series by photographer alex
prager takes you back to a time where it was
wood panelled wagons not suv's and polyester
not cotton. it is prager's belief that 'all women are
actresses' and this collection of images broadcasts
that idea in technicolor. the show will run from
january 14th - february 20th.

quoting l.a times writer jessica gelt: “alex prager’s is
a vision of womanhood on the edge: on the edge of
beauty, of breakdown, of lust, of listlessness.”

if that isn't enough to entice you to check out the
show for yourself maybe some examples of the work
will do it. take a look at some of the featured works on
the yancey richardson gallery website:

2009 smart luxury awards

sherman's travel shot a fantastic story here at GO last
year. they were kind enough to send us a copy of the issue
which brought much excitement to the beginning of our new
year. a collaborative effort between sherman's travel magazine,
u.k based illustrator mariko jesse and photographer daymion
mardel bore terrific results.

their smart luxury awards are a culmination of a years worth
of coverage in the magazine and are awarded to either a
smart splurge, an indulgence that merits its high price or
a great value. their mixed media approach took what could
have a been a simple story to another level.

please check out the story on their website, it's worth downloading
the pdf to get a nice big version of the images and also, some tips
for your next vacation.

download the article on the sherman's travel website, you'll find it
under the 'download articles from our current issue' header:

as if they were movie stills she creates a visual narrative which
separates her work from many other contemporaries.

why not start the new year off with a healthy dose of inspiration?
check out her myspace for a fantastic selection of images and more
on this interesting woman and her take on what it means to be a
