honey space


in a city full of galleries, museums and various
creative spaces honey space is a breath of fresh air.
imagine a space free of all the pretense, dedicated to
providing a place for the showing of compelling and
enriching work....honey space most definitely provides
this. owned by sculptor thomas beale this unmarked
gallery is truly one of a kind.

creating a very special haven for great work a great
example of what he shows is an installation from
last year by the infamous graffiti/street artist swoon
and tennessee jane watson. titled 'portrait of silvia elena'
the two traveled to juarez, mexico scene of the unsolved
femicides that have been occuring for the last ten years.
silvia elena was one of the first victims. back in 2008
there had been 500 confirmed victims, all women,
most poor, young and sexually abused prior to their deaths.
it is a truly moving project and one that is absolutely worth
taking the time to acknowledge.
